How does content work?
Content is a digital asset (URL, file) made available to the employee at a specific point in their journey. It will be available to the employee from a certain date.
It can be e-learning (e-training) that complements any physical training, business procedures or processes, presentation videos of the department or job...
The objectives of content are to:
Provide the employee with the right information at the right time in their journey
Track the employee's progress in understanding the content
Content is necessarily linked to a digital resource. There are two possible formats :
- an Uploaded File stored on the platform (PDF file, PowerPoint presentation, video, ...)
The maximum video file size for a “content” resource in Workelo is 100 Mo. - an External Link to an online resource, an intranet, an e-learning platform (LMS), a file on a cloud, etc...
Create new content
1. In your sidebar menu, click on the Libraries tab > Resources, then click "+ create a resource".
2. Select the "Content" button from the list that appears;
3. Complete the title of the content, its description, and the environment (check our advices)
4. Click on "Add a file or a link" and choose the type of media to insert: link or file
5. Select the availability of the resource(s), then finalize by clicking "Save".
Edit and delete content
You can edit by clicking directly on it or delete it by clicking on the Trash icon.
💡 Best Practices
Catchy Titles: Choose engaging and captivating titles to spark employees' interest and encourage them to view the content. You can make titles more appealing by including emojis (see emoji library).
Examples: Discover Workelo! 🚀 (resource as a link - YouTube video URL), Discover Aurélia’s testimonial, Head of Customer Success (resource as a file - MP4 video), Learn about our remote work policy (resource as a file - PDF), Discover meal vouchers! (resource as a file - PDF)…
Clear Descriptions: Write clear and concise descriptions to quickly explain the value of the content.
- Some Use Case Ideas:
⭐️ Company Introduction: Information about leadership, company history, culture, mission and values, policies, and internal commitments.
⭐️ Learning Resources: Provide training materials, guides, manuals, or videos to help employees develop skills. These can be related to their roles or the company’s internal practices.
Examples: A guide for your payroll tool, a guide for connecting to your HRIS, a guide for requesting leave, a guide for health insurance and benefits...
⭐️ Practical Information: Content such as internal policies, employee benefits, important contacts, etc.
⚠️ Avoid overloading employees with an excessive amount of content upfront. Too much information can overwhelm and reduce engagement. Distribute content evenly throughout the onboarding process (preboarding & onboarding).
Provide content progressively, tailored to employees' skill levels.
Start with lighter and more accessible content during preboarding to introduce the company, its culture, and values. You can schedule engaging content over weeks -4 to -1: as the start date approaches, employees can explore details about company policies and charters, diving deeper into specifics as their onboarding progresses.
After the first day, gradually increase the load with more specific content and in-depth training on job-specific skills.
